ADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC SHOWERS

Electric showers can be very economical and many people are opting for them as they can offer advantages over other types of shower systems. Instantaneous electric showers offer maximum convenience to users, as they operate independently of the central heating system, meaning the shower will even work when the central heating system in your home is switched off or is broken.

An electric shower can be fitted onto any domestic water system. Electric showers heat the water instantly as and when required, this is why they are also known as instantaneous electric showers.

If you choose to install a power shower instead of an electric shower; you need to be aware that it would not heat the water. It simply pumps water from the existing hot water and cold water tanks to produce a high pressure shower. Power showers cannot be used with mains pressure cold water, unvented heating systems, or with combination boilers. Therefore an electric shower, which operates independently of the existing heating system, can be a more convenient option.

Similarly, a mixer shower mixes cold and hot water from a heating system to achieve the desired bathing temperature. It is important to mention here that the valves of a manual mixer shower do not maintain a constant temperature if the flow of water to the shower changes, resulting in the shower water temperature rising or falling sharply. This can be avoided by choosing a thermostatic mixer shower instead, however these can be around the same cost as an electric shower.

One of the main advantages of electric showers is that they can save you money because of the way they work. You only heat the water you use which makes it quite an economical option. By avoiding the method of heating a whole tank of water, you are not wasting any energy. This is one of the reasons why more and more people today prefer to opt for this convenient and economical shower option to keep their utility bills to a minimum.

CREDA SHOWERS GETS DIGITAL

Creda adds an exciting new product to its existing portfolio of stylish and affordable showering solutions with the launch of the Creda Thermostatic Digital Mixer Shower. The innovative wireless digital mixer shower offers a host of benefits for installers and end users alike.

Kevin Tolson, Creda Showers comments, “Digital mixer showers first entered the market around five years ago but, as with all new technology, they came at a price. Now, however, Creda has made this option more obtainable for the mass market.

“For the forward thinking installer this has created a very real opportunity to sell the benefits of digital technology to customers and for homeowners, digital mixer showers not only deliver the wow factor but they also provide them with a technologically advanced showering experience.”

As the Creda Digital Mixer Shower unit is wireless it means the digital mixer can be sited remotely, in the loft or under the bath, so there is no need for extensive excavation work to fit wires and pipes and therefore no need for expensive retiling. For the installer this simplifies and greatly reduces installation time and the homeowner can control the shower through a stylish remote control, which can be used up to 10m away from the base unit or from within the showering area.

Benefiting from all the latest technology, the Creda Digital Mixer Shower remote features an LCD display with three programmable memory options, which can be set to an individual’s preference guaranteeing the perfect shower temperature and flow rate every time. Fully thermostatic the Creda Digital Mixer is a reliable and safe option for families.

With the introduction of Part G in mind, Creda Showers has incorporated a number of clever water saving features into the Digital Mixer, which means it also meets the Code for Sustainable Homes Legislation. Electronically flow-controlled, the shower can achieve 6 litre/minute flow rates, without heating the water above 40oC and the programmable timer means that the shower will automatically turn itself off if it is either left on or turned on accidentally.

The new unit from Creda Showers is available in two different variants, ensuring it will suit any system whether that is gravity, combi or high pressure and with four stylish accessory kit options, it means there is something for everyone in terms of functionality and design.

Kevin adds, “To take advantage and reap the economic rewards on offer from the Digital Mixer Shower, installers need to familiarise themselves with the technology so they can sell on the many benefits to their customers, advising them that they can in fact, afford the very latest and must-have bathroom technology.”

THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING

In a year when many manufacturers consolidated product ranges rather than investing in new product developments, leading manufacturer of showering solutions, Creda Showers, embarked on its most significant programme of new product introductions for many years.

Creda Showers has been manufacturing showering solutions for many years and, in that time the company has witnessed the many ‘rises and falls’ of the UK construction market. The last 12 to 18 months has been, without doubt, one of the most challenging periods during the company’s history thanks to the far-reaching and damaging effects of the global recession. However, not one to rest on its laurels, Creda Showers faced the credit crunch head on and introduced its most significant programme of new products for many years.

“Creda Showers is a quality brand that stands for innovation and pioneering technology,” explains Kevin Tolson of Creda Showers. “Throughout the company’s history, Creda Showers has been at the very forefront of quality, affordable design and, despite the recent difficult market conditions, we took the decision that the best way forward was to invest in new product development, driving choice and confidence through product innovation.”

Part of this new product development, saw Creda Showers enter the digital showering market for the first time with the introduction of the new Thermostatic Digital Mixer Shower.
“Our competitors have had digital showering products within their ranges for a while now, but we took the decision not to jump on the bandwagon of the new ‘digital phenomenon’ and instead took our time developing our product, ensuring that we were able to offer customers the best possible technology at the best possible price,” continued Kevin. “Given the current economic climate and the fact that consumers are now being much more careful with money, it could be easy to assume that the cost of digital technology will still be too prohibitive for many. However, that is not the case with the Creda Thermostatic Digital Mixer Shower. As is synonymous with the Creda Showers brand, the new Digital Mixer Shower brings together the very latest in shower design, styling and performance to deliver a truly leading edge thermostatic digital mixer shower with an extremely affordable price tag.”

Creda Showers also strongly supports the Government’s recent revisions to Part G of the Building Regulations but believes more can still be done.

“It is encouraging that the Government is doing something to tackle the issues of hot water safety and water efficiency with the latest amends to the Building Regulations,” commented Kevin. “Hot water safety is something Creda Showers takes very seriously. However, it is important to note that the new regulations only affect new build properties and do not stipulate specific safety measures for showers. Therefore, it still remains the role of manufacturers and merchants to continue to educate customers about these important issues, helping them to understand the importance of products that offer additional safety features, particularly for households with young children, elderly or less able people.”

To support its wide range of new product introductions, Creda Showers has also invested heavily in new supporting material for retailers and customers. The company website has undergone a major revamp, ensuring that both retailers and customers have access to the very latest product information and a source of advice on important issues such as the latest Building Regulations.

Creda Showers helps support a workforce of more than 250 people, including a dedicated after sales support service of both engineers and professional installers. This ensures that Creda Showers always has the right solution for any showering installation.

“It has been an exciting year for the Creda Showers brand in terms of product development,” concluded Kevin. “2010 will be no different in terms of continued innovation and investment and we are looking forward to working closely with retailers over the next twelve months to ensure that the Creda Showers brand continues to deliver award-winning and pioneering technology. Despite the challenges that may still lie ahead, we believe that being positive and taking swift, decisive action in delivering exactly what the market needs is the way forward, both now and in the future so watch this space!”
